HOW WE USE CFD
The main tool we use to work our CFD magic is SIEMENS Star-CCM+.
Some of our most common simulations investigate:
- ship hull resistance and powering calculations:
- at full scale
- including sinkage and trim at speed
- including hull-propeller interaction
- hull form optimization and appendage alignment
- bubble sweep-down interference with gondola or sonar equipment
- airflow, including exhaust gas concentration/temperature and helideck turbulence.
We use both in-house and third party high-performance clusters to guarantee we can meet even the most demanding simulation or tightest schedule.
WE DON’T STOP THERE
Some additional areas that benefit from CFD analysis include:
