The VARD 7 400 series are naval landing platform dock amphibious ships. They ensure logistic movements are possible even on unimproved ports and beaches, with organic shore connectors, protected docks for cargo loading, and ample storage for vehicles, personnel, and materiel.
The VARD 7 500 series is developed for amphibious operations, which include landing craft and landing ship tanks. These vessels are engineered to support demanding littoral missions – placing personnel and vehicles directly onto the beach.
Our Amphibious Vessels design philosophy
Designed for versatility and durability, these platforms can be configured to meet a wide spectrum of mission requirements – ensuring readiness for both planned and unforeseen operations. Landing ships allow movement of troops, equipment and cargo into remote locations and unimproved ports. This can provide initial forces onto a beach in wartime, resupply of remote outposts in peacetime, and emergency aid when facilities have been destroyed or damaged in crisis. We design our vessels with commercial standards, reducing construction cost, while incorporating rugged features not typical to merchant shipping. Our designs are adaptable to a wide range of accommodation standards, cargo loadouts, and naval communications and combat systems.

OUR COLLABORATIVE APPROACH
We work closely with our clients throughout the design process, ensuring each vessel aligns with specific operational needs, from vehicle interoperability to troop berthing and medical facilities. Our solutions are fit for purpose – whether the vessel is in open water or during critical beaching operations.
THE CLIENT ADVANTAGE
Beach, surf, and sea conditions vary around the world, and landing craft are uniquely positioned to experience all these environments on a single mission. Tailoring our vessels to specific geographic conditions ensures maximum operability and utility for our clients. We strive to balance beaching, vessel loadouts, speed, and topside requirements to find a unique solution optimized for customer requirements.
